Gordo, the Nicaraguan-American DJ and producer formerly known as Carnage, has sparked excitement across the music world with an announcement, teasing a collaborative EP with Drake set to drop later this year. The six-song project, clocking in at just 16 minutes and crafted in a whirlwind 48 hours, promises to deliver a house music vibe tailored for fans of Drake’s dance-infused sound, as Gordo noted, “If you love house music Drake… these are for you.” Their previous work together, including hits like STICKY and MASSIVE from Drake’s 2022 album HONESTLY, NEVERMIND, which became Apple Music’s biggest dance album within its first hour, sets high expectations for this rapid-fire release.

The announcement follows Gordo’s successful 2024 album DIAMANTE, which featured Drake on two tracks, SIDEWAYS and HEALING, and showcased their knack for blending hip-hop and electronic beats with Latin influences. Gordo, who served as a consultant on DIAMANTE, has a history of elevating Drake’s forays into house music, notably producing six tracks on HONESTLY, NEVERMIND.

The teased EP, while not detailed with a specific release date or tracklist, is generating buzz for its potential to build on this foundation, with fans speculating whether it will include fresh material or remixes, given Gordo’s coy remark about the project’s nature remaining unclear. Social media reactions highlight the anticipation.

As Drake navigates a busy 2025, fresh off his collaborative album SOME SEXY SONGS 4 U with PartyNextDoor, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 246,000 album-equivalent units, this EP with Gordo signals his continued exploration of diverse sounds. Gordo’s genre-twisting prowess, evident in his work with artistes like Feid and Maluma, and his performances at festivals like Coachella and Tomorrowland, positions this project as a potential game-changer in the house music scene.

With Drake’s endorsement and Gordo’s innovative production, the EP is poised to deliver a compact yet explosive addition to their collaborative legacy, keeping fans on edge for its arrival later in 2025.
