According to Vogue Business, effective June 26, 2023, Rihanna will pass on her position as CEO of Savage X Fenty, a position she has held since co-founding the brand in 2018 to former Anthropologie CEO Hillary Super.
She announced that the latter will be taking over the position as head of the brand referring to her as “a strong leader focused on taking the business to an even higher level”.
In a statement to Vogue Business, she stated that the transition was a step in the right direction as it was aimed towards the continued expansion of the brand in ways that ensured a continued connection with consumers.
Prior to her new role at Savage X Fenty, Hillary Super was the global CEO at Anthropologie Group for four years having held other leadership positions at Guess, American Eagle, Gap and Old Navy.
She expressed her excitement about the new position citing the brand’s commitment to the celebration of inclusivity and fearlessness as inspiring. “I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family,” Super remarked.
“The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.” she added.
Vogue Business revealed however
that regardless of this transition, Rihanna will continue to serve as the executive
chair of the brand as it continues to garner more success working to expand beyond
e-commerce into wholesale and brick-and-mortar with the addition of seven stores
in five new states.
