Jeffrey Nortey Reveals He Rejected Offers To Use Dragon Character In Films
Jeffrey Nortey

Actor and content creator Jeffrey Nortey has disclosed that he has turned down requests from filmmakers seeking to use his popular Dragon character in movies, stating that he wants to retain creative control over the role.

Speaking on Culture Daily on 3 Music TV, Nortey revealed that several filmmakers had approached him about incorporating Dragon into their productions.

However, he said he believes the character should first be developed through a project he leads himself.

“I want to be the first person to bring out a Dragon film,” he said.

Nortey argued that as the creator of the character, he understands Dragon better than any outside writer or filmmaker and wants to protect the personality and style that audiences have come to associate with the role.

He expressed concern that others could dilute the character’s distinctive wordplay and mannerisms if given full control.

The actor said his long-term vision for Dragon extends beyond short skits and online content, suggesting there are future opportunities to expand the character into larger productions.

Nortey also disclosed that he has not received any formal offer to sell ownership rights to any of his characters.

While he ruled out such a move for now, he acknowledged that every creator ultimately has a price.

The actor said the various characters he has developed allow him to reach different audiences and work with different brands, noting that some companies specifically request certain characters while avoiding others.

According to Nortey, the choice of character depends on the message being communicated, the target audience, and the client’s objectives.
