Ghanaian rapper Joey B has opened up about his music, faith, career journey and relationship with fellow rapper Sarkodie during a candid interview with Joseph Nti on the Sincerely Accra podcast.

During the conversation, Joey B revealed that he is now a devoted Christian, sharing how his faith has become an important part of his life and perspective.

He also explained the meaning behind his “p*ssy no eye pink” line on the “Don’t Come Too Close Remix”, offering insight into the creative thinking behind some of his lyrics.

Joey B further shared his thoughts on the Hennessy Cypher 2026, suggesting that the brand could raise the standard of its production.

“I think Hennessy needs to up their beats,” Joey B remarked, sparking a wider conversation about whether the cypher’s beats consistently match the calibre of rappers who feature on them.

One of the more reflective moments of the interview came when Joey B spoke about his relationship with music, saying he has come to realise that although he makes the music, the music is not necessarily from him or for him.

The rapper also recounted how Sarkodie encouraged him to release “U x Me”, which became an important part of his comeback.

“I was sending Sarkodie songs or that. Whatever I was sending, he wasn’t really like reacting to it or he’ll just say fire and that’s it. But when I sent him You and Me, he was like what the f!” he recalled.

Joseph Nti also highlighted Joey B’s ability to remain effortlessly relevant in Ghana’s music industry for about a decade without relying on unnecessary drama or controversy to trend.

The interview has since received widespread praise from fans, with many applauding Joseph Nti for creating the space for Joey B to speak openly about his music, faith, career and experiences within the industry.
