Sista Afia Opens Up About Fear of Becoming a Single Mother

Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has opened up about her fears surrounding motherhood, revealing that the increasing number of single mothers in today’s generation has left her genuinely concerned about her own future.

In a candid post on X, the singer clarified that her fear is not motherhood itself, but the possibility of raising a child without the love, commitment and family structure she hopes to build.

“Seeing how many single mothers there are in this generation honestly scares me,” she wrote.

Sista Afia explained that while she looks forward to becoming a mother someday, she does not want to find herself in a situation where she is simply a “baby mama” without a committed partner.

“I’m not afraid of motherhood, but I’m afraid of becoming a single mother or just a ‘baby mama’ without the love, commitment, and family I always envisioned,” she stated.

The JEJE hitmaker stressed that her dream extends beyond simply having children. She wants to create a loving and stable home where both parents are present and committed to raising their family together.

“I want to build a home, not just have a child,” she added, before admitting that the thought of the alternative “scares the hell” out of her.

Her comments have sparked conversations online about relationships, intentional parenthood and the importance of commitment before starting a family.
