Afriyie Wutah Calls for End to Unnecessary Music Beefs as He Urges Fans to “Focus on the Music”

Ghanaian musician Afriyie Wutah has raised concerns about the growing culture of unnecessary beefs among musicians, arguing that the constant drama is overshadowing good music being released by other artistes.

In a post on social media, the former Wutah member noted that too much attention is being given to conflicts, insults and controversies rather than the music itself.

“Unnecessary beefs between musicians are taking attention from the good songs other musicians are releasing,” he wrote.

Afriyie Wutah argued that music lovers and industry stakeholders spend considerable energy discussing who insulted whom, while overlooking artistes who are putting out quality records.

“We spend so much energy discussing who insulted who, instead of streaming who released what,” he added.

According to him, the dominance of music-related drama is making it difficult for good songs to receive the attention they deserve.

“Let’s focus on the music again. Good music is suffering because drama is louder. Let’s change that,” he stated.

His comments come amid ongoing debates within Ghana’s music industry over artiste rivalries and the extent to which beefs and controversies influence conversations around music.

Afriyie Wutah ended his message with the hashtag #FocusOnTheMusic, urging fans to redirect their attention towards supporting and streaming music rather than fuelling unnecessary conflicts.
