Ghana’s Black Princesses Crash Out Of U-20 Women’s World Cup After 4-0 Defeat To France

Ghana’s Black Princesses have been eliminated from the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following a heavy 4-0 loss to France in their final Group C match.

The defeat left the Ghanaian side bottom of the group with just three points from three games. Ghana opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Ecuador, recovered with a 3-1 victory over South Korea, but were unable to secure the result they needed against the French.

France dominated the second half, scoring four unanswered goals to seal top spot in the group and advance to the knockout stages. Ghana finished level on points with Ecuador but ranked last in the standings.

The result marks Ghana’s eighth consecutive group-stage exit at the U-20 Women’s World Cup since the team’s debut in 2010. 

Despite high hopes after the win over South Korea, the Black Princesses were unable to break their long-standing barrier of progressing beyond the group phase.

The tournament is being held in Poland. France will advance as group winners, while South Korea also progressed.
