Ghanaian music star Darkovibes brought energy, humour and honesty to the latest episode of Chef It Up, where he joined Yaa Bitha in the kitchen for a lively cooking-meets-conversation experience.
While chopping, stirring and sharing laughs, he opened up about his journey and his latest release, the dance-driven track SHASHII.
Unlike a formal sit-down interview, the setting was relaxed and spontaneous; just two creatives cooking and talking. In the middle of the light-hearted banter, one statement stood out and quickly became the moment of the show.
“La Même Gang is a collective, not a group.” Darkovibes explained that many people still refer to La Même Gang as a group, which builds expectations of frequent joint projects. But for him, La Même has always been a collective of independent artistes who come together organically, not out of obligation. Each member has their own creative journey and the freedom to explore individually is what has kept the collective authentic and vibrant.
As pots simmered and ingredients came together, he also spoke about his musical evolution and what fans can expect from his new single SHASHII. He described the track as a fun, danceable tune designed to get listeners moving, a reflection of the playful energy he brought to the kitchen.
The episode captured Darkovibes in his element, unfiltered and fully aligned with his artistic identity. And while the food looked good, the clarity he gave about La Même Gang might just be the most satisfying thing he served.
