Apple is gearing up for its macOS 14.4 update, currently in beta testing with developers before the official launch in March. The beta version, macOS 14.4 beta 4, reveals a slew of minor tweaks and fresh features across the system.

A notable addition is the expanded support for multiple timers with all available ringtones, building upon a feature introduced in macOS 14.2. Apple has also made a subtle yet interesting change by renaming the Listen Now tab to Home in the Apple Music, Books, and Podcasts apps, enhancing user navigation.

Emojis enthusiasts will be delighted to find 108 new emojis in macOS 14.4 beta, including skin tone modifiers, gender variants, and new figures like a lime, shaking heads, a phoenix, and gender-neutral family emojis represented via silhouettes. Apple is also addressing a Weather app bug causing crashes on Intel Macs, with a fix anticipated before the public release.

In a bid to enhance collaborative music experiences, Apple has introduced features in Apple Music that allow users to invite friends to join playlists, collaborate on song additions and reordering, and express reactions using emojis. Additionally, Apple Care & Warranty information for all devices linked to an Apple ID is now conveniently displayed in Settings.

Accompanying macOS 14.4 beta 4, Apple has simultaneously launched the fourth test versions of iOS 17.4, iPadOS 17.4, watchOS 10.4, and tvOS 17.4, promising an array of updates across its ecosystem.
