Ghanaian-American singer Moliy has achieved a career-defining milestone with her remix of SHAKE IT TO THE MAX, featuring Silent Addy, Skillibeng, and Shenseea, which has soared to number 1 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. The track, a vibrant fusion of Afrobeats and Dancehall, ended South African star Tyla’s prolonged dominance at the top spot, marking Moliy’s first-ever number 1 on this chart.

Its ascent was steady yet remarkable debuting at number 16 in early March 2025, climbing to number 5 by late March, reaching number 3 in April, and hitting number 2 before finally claiming the top position. This achievement underscores Moliy’s growing influence in the Afrobeats genre and her ability to captivate audiences with her infectious sound and cross-cultural appeal.

Beyond the U.S., SHAKE IT TO THE MAX has fortified Moliy’s global presence, holding the number 1 spot on the UK Afrobeats chart for an impressive nine weeks. The remix has also made waves across other Billboard charts, peaking at number 136 on the Global 200, number 95 on the Global 200 Excluding U.S., and number 33 on the Rhythmic Top 40. Its success is fueled by a potent combination of Moliy’s genre-blending artistry, the star power of her collaborators, and a viral music video that has garnered over 28 million YouTube views.

The track’s seamless integration of Afrobeats’ rhythmic pulse with Dancehall’s gritty energy has resonated with listeners worldwide, reflecting a broader trend of cross-genre collaborations driving Afrobeats’ global expansion.

Moliy’s strategic promotion and the song’s universal appeal have been instrumental in its chart-topping run, positioning her as a leading voice in the evolving Afrobeats landscape. The remix’s success highlights the increasing intersection of Afrobeats and Dancehall, with Moliy and her collaborators tapping into a sound that feels both fresh and timeless.

As the track continues to dominate charts and streaming platforms, it signals not only Moliy’s personal triumph but also the growing global appetite for African diasporic sounds. With SHAKE IT TO THE MAX, Moliy is carving out a bold space in the music industry, proving her staying power as a dynamic force in global music.
