Mozambican DJ Tarico Calls Shatta Wale Powerful

Dj Tarico names Shatta Wale the most popular Ghanaian artiste in Mozambique.

Speaking in an interview with Lerny Lomotey on 3Music TV’s On Cue show, he said Mozambicans have difficulty differentiating between artistes from West African countries especially Ghana and Nigeria.

Giving an answer to who the most popular Ghanaian artiste in Mozambique is, DJ Tarico said, "There is a problem…you guys have the same sounds with Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya. It is the same thing with us with South Africa, many people thought I was South African. So for us it's difficult to know who is Ghanaian and who is not a Ghanaian."

When asked which other Ghanaian artistes he would like to work with, he mentioned Shatta Wale.

Further explaining his choice, DJ Tarico said, “...Shatta Wale is good, he is powerful. Everyone knows Shatta Wale in Mozambique…he has a song with Beyonce!"

He emphasizes that not many Shatta Wale songs are known but if you ask who is Shatta Wale? The response will be “the guy who has a song with Beyonce.”
