Filmed against the iconic backdrop of Oxford University, My Oxford Year a sweeping new romantic comedy, debuts on Netflix on August 1st, 2025.

The film stars Sofia Carson as Anna De La Vega, an ambitious American student whose meticulously planned life turns upside down when she meets Jamie Davenport (played by Corey Mylchreest), a charismatic local poet and teaching assistant. Their shared love of poetry blossoms into a life‑changing romance set within the university’s storied lecture halls and misty quads.

In interviews, Carson and Mylchreest praised their natural chemistry on set. Carson noted that Anna’s drive to plan her life resonated deeply with her personally, while Mylchreest described Carson as a “calming presence” from their first scene together  . The duo even joked about practicing British slang ahead of filming, adding to their on-screen dynamic  .
