The Ghana Tertiary Fashion Awards (GTFA) has embarked on a nationwide campus tour to empower and educate the next generation of fashion creatives through its Fashion Education Series (FES) an initiative designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real world industry experience.

Over the past few weeks, the GTFA team, together with top voices in Ghana’s creative and fashion industries, has visited several universities across the country, engaging students in thought-provoking discussions and interactive sessions.

Notable speakers and stakeholders who joined the tour include Kuukua Eshun, renowned filmmaker and creative director; Édem Farrie, media personality and advocate for youth empowerment, Felicity Serwaa A., a fashion entrepreneur; and Sefakor, representing the influential streetwear collective Free The Youth. Their shared experiences and insights gave students a realistic view of the creative ecosystem from storytelling and branding to sustainability, self-expression and entrepreneurship.

The Fashion Education Series (FES) also introduced a range of side activities, including networking sessions and tailored matchmaking meetings, creating space for young creatives to connect with mentors, peers and collaborators from different fashion disciplines. Participants were encouraged to exchange ideas form partnerships and join the movement to redesign the future of fashion in Ghana.

Speaking on the tour’s impact, organizers of the GTFA highlighted their commitment to building a strong foundation for the creative economy by empowering students with knowledge, confidence, and opportunities to thrive in the ever-evolving global fashion scene.

As the tour continues, the Fashion Education Series stands as a beacon of inspiration, proving that Ghana’s next generation of designers, stylists, models and storytellers are ready to take center stage boldly and innovatively.
