Nana Adjoa Lovia Calls For More Media Focus On Young Entertainers

Actress and entrepreneur Nana Adjoa Lovia has called for greater media attention for emerging entertainers, saying young people in Ghana’s creative industry are producing work and achieving milestones that deserve coverage.

Lovia said the media often gives more attention to established personalities while younger artists, actors, influencers and entertainers struggle to secure similar platforms.

She made the comments after discussing her experience as the red-carpet host for the 2026 Ghana Music Awards Europe in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Lovia said she travelled to Germany on Friday, hosted the red carpet on Saturday and returned to Ghana on Monday.

She described the opportunity as an important achievement in her career and said such accomplishments by young entertainers should receive more coverage.

“I feel like the industry, the media space, they channel most of their energy into the old people,” she said.

Lovia acknowledged that established personalities had built their careers over many years but argued that emerging entertainers also need platforms if they are to develop into the next generation of industry leaders.

“If you don’t give us the new faces, the welcoming platforms for us to do the interviews, how can we be like them?” she asked.

She said she had been fortunate to receive attention from some media organisations but noted that other young entertainers were not receiving similar opportunities.

Lovia also spoke about her current work as a film producer. She said she was preparing to collaborate with three other female producers on a new film project, with production expected to begin in the second week of October.

She said the project would involve actors from Ghana and Nigeria and is planned for a December premiere.

Lovia said she intends to continue producing films while also expanding her presence across the entertainment industry.

Her comments come amid wider discussions about opportunities for young creatives and the role of the media in giving visibility to emerging talent.
