Sammie Okposo, a well-known Nigerian gospel minister, passed away early on Friday morning, according to several sources. He was 51.
His project manager, Hillary Vincent, confirmed this news to a correspondent from a Nigerian news tabloid-- Punch Newspapers, via a phone call.
In response to questions, he replied, "Yes, it's true. It took place this morning." He however did not provide any other information regarding the singer's passing, so he declined to comment further.
The musician allegedly slumped before being declared dead, according to unreliable online sources.
The deceased sparked outrage earlier this year when he took to his verified Instagram profile to apologise to his wife, Ozioma, for cheating on her with another lady in the United States in a 2021 incident.
The singer decided to take a break from ministry following the scandal in order to make it right with God and himself a few months after.
Minister Okposo was a well-known music producer, psalmist, and CEO of Zamar Entertainment. He was also known as "The Wellu Wellu master."
