In a groundbreaking collaboration, Ray Michael and Paradisus recently hosted their inaugural joint writing camp from January 9-13, 2024. This historic event brought together talent from Warner Africa, Warner UK, and Atlantic UK, transforming the picturesque Paradisus in Aburi, Ghana, into a creative hub for writers, producers, and engineers. The week-long celebration of artistic immersion focused on the vibrant tapestry of Black Music.
Ray Michael and his dedicated team curated an exceptional guest list, welcoming influential artistes such as Joeboy, Tion Wayne, Fave, Tave, Bein (Sautisol), BlaqBonez, Darko Vibez, Ladipoe, Camidoh, Kamo Mphela, Baby S.O.N, and producers P.Prime, Telz, TSB, The Elementz, Yumbs, and Hylander.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Paradisus in Aburi, the camp unfolded amid awe-inspiring views, fostering an environment of inspiration, creativity, and collaboration. Paradisus, designed to showcase the beauty and culture of Aburi Ghana, not only offered five state-of-the-art studios but also featured a pool, basketball court, mini-golf, and ping pong—uncommon amenities in traditional studios. The allure of these extras, coupled with an on-site chef highlighting Ghanaian dishes, played a pivotal role in attracting high-caliber artistes and producers.
The peak of the camp culminated in a lively listening party at Ray's latest venture, Paradisus at Beachafriqué, a beachfront recording studio and bar on La Boma beach, Accra, Ghana. This event not only expressed gratitude but also showcased some of the remarkable recordings produced during the week-long camp.
Undoubtedly, participants departed the camp not only with promising hit songs for 2024 but also with a profound sense of newfound community and support. They left feeling empowered and eagerly anticipating the creative possibilities that 2024 holds. The joint writing camp at Paradisus stands as a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and innovation in the music industry.
