Singer, Business Mogul and now mother of two Robyn Rihanna Fenty has been making waves on the internet since her magical performance at the Super Bowl Finals earlier this year. She went on to step away from the chief executive role at her lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty, five years after creating it, handing over to Hillary Super as her replacement. Months down the line, she has made yet another announcement, with the collaboration of the Fenty and Puma brands.
Having joined hands for multiple collaborations since 2015, Rihanna and the Puma brands are no strangers and it is not surprising to see yet another collaboration between the two. The 2023 collaboration between the two which culminated into the unveiling of the new Avanti is borne out of the superstar's continuous passion for football and fashion. The shoes feature buttery soft vintage leather, a tongue with a debossed and printed gold foil Fenty and Puma Cat logo, and a leather footbed available in black or white colors.
The very first, original King football boot was launched in 1968 by Puma and was worn by legendary players like Eusebio, Pelé, and Maradona, following which the Puma Miele was released in 1978, the precursor to the Easy rider jogging shoes. Puma further collaborated with Jil Sander to create the Jil Sander King, which was the inspiration behind the first Avanti which was introduced in 2001 leading up to 2023, with Rihanna infusing her unique design elements into this sophisticated combination of the King football boot and the Easy Rider, from the leather to the gum outsole, making it wearable by everyone in the family with a cool look on kids and suitable for parents.
