Antoine Semenyo has become the first Ghanaian player to be nominated for the English Premier League player of the season after a remarkable run with Bournemouth and Manchester City.
Semenyo was among the nominees announced for the prestigious award for his outstanding presence in the season, registering 16 goals, four assists and a total of 35 league appearances.
The 26-year old moved to Manchester City in January having a good start of the season at Bournemouth. The forward quickly cemented his name at the Etihad Stadium clinching the player of the month of February after scoring three goals and one assist in five matches.
Antoine Semenyo's nomination marks a historic milestone for Ghana as no player from the country has ever achieved this since its inception in the 1994-95 season.
Semenyo is nominated alongside Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd), Gabriel Magalhães (Arsenal), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Erling Haaland (Man City), David Raya (Arsenal), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Antoine Semenyo (Man City), and Igor Thiago (Brentford).
