Hollywood star Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina Elba have been named among TIME Magazine’s Most Influential Philanthropists of 2026.


The couple earned recognition for their growing humanitarian efforts through the Elba Hope Foundation, where they continue to champion issues including food security, climate change and youth empowerment across Africa and beyond. TIME highlighted the pair for using their global platform to drive conversations and action around sustainable development and social impact. 


According to TIME, Idris and Sabrina Elba have focused heavily on creating long-term solutions for vulnerable communities, especially through partnerships aimed at improving agriculture, nutrition and opportunities for young people. 


The recognition adds to another major milestone for Idris Elba, who was recently honored in the UK’s New Year Honours list for his contributions to young people and the creative industry.


The TIME100 Philanthropy list celebrates global figures using their influence, wealth and platforms to create meaningful social change. Other notable names featured on the 2026 list include Rihanna, Shakira and Elton John.
