Bad Bunny’s sixth solo album, DEBI TIRAR MAS FOTOS, has made history by achieving the largest vinyl sales week for a Latin album in Nielsen’s modern era, selling 48,000 units in the week ending May 8, 2025, according to Luminate. This milestone, announced on May 11, 2025, propelled the album back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking its fourth week atop the chart.

The Puerto Rican superstar’s exclusive blue double-vinyl edition, sold solely through his webstore for $29.98, sold out rapidly after pre-orders began in February, surpassing the previous record set by Kali Uchis’ Orquídeas (20,000 units in 2024). Fans on X celebrated the feat, with one calling it a “loud and clear” sign of Latin music’s dominance.

The vinyl surge contributed to a total of 84,500 equivalent album units for DEBI TIRAR MAS FOTOS, a 123% increase from the prior week, with streaming adding 36,000 units and track sales under 500. This achievement coincided with a historic moment for Latin music, as Fuerza Regida’s 111XPANTIA debuted at No. 2, marking the first time Spanish-language albums claimed the top two spots on the Billboard 200 in its 69-year history.

Bad Bunny’s album, released on January 5, 2025, via Rimas Entertainment, blends reggaeton with Puerto Rican plena, jíbaro, and salsa, reflecting themes of cultural identity and resistance against gentrification. Its critical acclaim and commercial success, including 2.2 billion streams in five weeks, underscore Bad Bunny’s global influence.

The record-breaking vinyl sales highlight the growing demand for physical formats in Latin music, driven by Bad Bunny’s loyal fanbase and strategic release tactics. The album’s cultural resonance, amplified by a short film and a Puerto Rican-exclusive concert residency announced for July 2025, has connected with both younger audiences and older generations, as noted by Pitchfork for bridging generational divides.

With all 17 tracks charting on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Latin Songs, Bad Bunny became the first Latin artiste with over 100 Hot 100 entries. As he prepares for his DEBI TIRAR MAS FOTOS World Tour (November 2025–July 2026), this vinyl triumph cements his status as a trailblazer, surpassing even Julio Iglesias’ legacy with over 100 million equivalent album sales.
