Still on the celebration of 50 years of Hip hop, co-founder of Cash Money Records, Brian “Birdman” Williams has called for the recognition of the contributions of CEOs to the Hip hop Culture.
According to Birdman, it is all in good taste that Billboard made a list for the greatest rappers of all time in commemoration of how far the culture has come and the impact it has had but it is also very necessary for CEO’s who nurtured and fought for these artistes and rappers to be able to do what they do without any hinderances.
In a post on his Instagram, the Cash Money Records boss demanded that Billboard pay respect for his and other CEO’s contributions to the careers of these artistes. Hours after he made the address to Billboard, he posted a screenshot of a best CEOs list on which he was number 1. Additionally, although his list had Bad Boy Records’ Puff Daddy at number 2, he respectfully opined that the spot was deserved by someone else.
This comes after an earlier
submission this month about the exclusion of Hip-Hop CEOs from the celebration
of the Culture’s Golden Jubilee with claims that they have played a pivotal
role in keeping the genre and on a larger scale, the culture alive.
