Ghanaian rap sensation Bogo Blay made a return to 3hread Special, hosted by Essilfua Boris Hemans, for an engaging discussion about his journey, creative process, and latest projects. Known for his vibrant energy on stage and calm demeanor in person, the rapper opened up about the duality of his persona and how it shapes his artistry.
During the conversation, Bogo Blay reflected on his evolving career, highlighting the progress he’s made since his last appearance. Notably, he shared his memorable experience performing at EL's Bar Concert, describing it as electrifying and a milestone moment for his craft.
On his much-talked-about remix of PAM featuring Clemento Suarez, Bogo revealed that the collaboration was as spontaneous as it was magical. Clemento, a celebrated comedian and performer, freestyled his verses, delivering an impressive recording session filled with humor and creativity. "He didn’t write a single line," Bogo remarked. "He just came, put on the headset, and delivered."
Bogo also discussed the organic creation of the song’s music video, which stemmed from improvisation and a spur-of-the-moment decision. Shot in his neighborhood and other impromptu locations like the under-construction Pokuase road, the visuals mirror his resourceful approach to music.
When asked about the impact of social media, Bogo championed platforms like TikTok for propelling his music to wider audiences. "Even a 10-second clip counts towards streams," he explained, adding that the app has played a significant role in connecting fans with his music. Despite this success, he remains grounded, emphasizing that fame hasn’t “gotten to his head” as he continues to focus on growth.
Looking ahead, Bogo expressed an interest in collaborating with artistes like Shatta Wale, Samini, EL, and Sarkodie, citing their unique sounds and influence. He underscored the importance of taking risks in his craft, attributing his resilience and success to a combination of faith and hard work.
Recalling 2022, when heavy investments in his craft didn’t yield immediate returns, Bogo reflected on his newfound reliance on God and the importance of patience in the music industry.
As he forges ahead, Bogo Blay promises more thrilling collaborations, creative projects, and music that resonates. Fans, affectionately called the “Hamdu Gang,” can rest assured that their favorite artiste is just getting started.
