Manchester City Confirms Guardiola's Exit After 10 Years

It is confirmed by Manchester City that manager Pepe Guardiola is leaving the club after the final game of the season on Sunday. 

Guardiola has led the team to win 17 major trophies including six premier league titles in 10 seasons. 

"Don't ask me the reasons I'm leaving," said Guardiola. "There is no reason, but deep inside, I know it's my time.

"Nothing is eternal, if it was, I would be here. Eternal will be the feeling, the people, the memories, the love I have for my Manchester City."

Reports form BBC Sports on Monday suggested that City were preparing for the departure of their manager a year before his contract ends.

Enzo Maresca, the former Chelsea manager who previously worked under Guardiola at Manchester City, is a leading candidate to replace the 55-year-old. 

News of Guardiola's exit came three days after the club suffered a defeat by Arsenal to clinch the 2025-26 Premier League title.

The Gunners were crowned champions of the season for the first time in 22 years after City's draw at Bournemouth on Tuesday.
