Legendary hip-hop artiste Busta Rhymes has officially received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, solidifying his place as one of the most influential figures in music history. The ceremony, held in front of a large crowd at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard, marked the unveiling of the 2,818th star on the iconic walkway.

Born Trevor George Smith Jr., Busta Rhymes was honored in the Recording category for his decades-long contribution to the music industry. The event was hosted by radio icon Big Boy, with tributes from notable guest speakers including LL Cool J, Chuck D, Chris Rock, and Big Daddy Kane all of whom praised Busta’s unmatched lyrical prowess, stage presence, and impact on hip-hop culture.
With a career spanning over 30 years, Busta Rhymes has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, received 12 Grammy nominations, and earned over 60 million gold and platinum certifications. He rose to fame in the early 1990s and solidified his solo career with the release of his debut album The Coming in 1996. His discography includes hits like BREAK YA NECK, TOUCH IT and Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See.

In an emotional acceptance speech, Busta reflected on his journey, saying, “I feel born again today. I feel complete today.” He thanked his mentors and peers, giving special recognition to Chuck D for giving him his stage name and early exposure in the industry.
This honour comes as Busta prepares for the release of his forthcoming album Vengeance, due in September, and a role in the upcoming film The Naked Gun reboot alongside Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson.
Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, highlighted Busta’s enduring legacy, stating, “His talent and influence are undeniable. His star on the Walk of Fame will stand as a testament to his lasting impact on hip-hop music and how important it is to American culture.”
The star unveiling is not just a personal milestone for Busta Rhymes, but a moment of recognition for the culture he helped shape a celebration of artistry, perseverance, and the universal power of music.
