Cameroon were crowned champions of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after a dominant 3-0 victory over debutants Malawi in the final on Sunday in Rabat, Morocco.
Marie Ngah Manga scored twice and Naomi Eto added one goal, all in the first half, at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium. The Indomitable Lionesses secured their first-ever continental title after previously finishing as runners-up on multiple occasions.
Malawi, appearing in the tournament for the first time, had staged a remarkable run to reach the final but were unable to contain Cameroon’s clinical attacking display.
Following the final, individual and team awards were presented. Monique Ngock of Cameroon was named Player of the Tournament, while teammate Michaely Bihina claimed the Golden Glove as best goalkeeper.
Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga won the Golden Boot as top scorer with five goals. Algeria received the Fair Play Award.
Cameroon’s triumph also confirmed their qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
