Ghanaian music sensation Sista Afia has made candid revelations about her humble beginnings as an artiste and how far she has come in the industry.

While many fans have seen a polished artiste from the genesis, the singer opened up on the Big Convo segment on 3Music TV’s Culture Daily that life was difficult for her back in London before she moved to Ghana.

Sista Afia claimed that she was actually sleeping in her car in London while her music was gaining popularity in Ghana.

“Even though I was working at that time, I wasn’t happy with my job. At that time too, I was homeless, if I could say, because I was sleeping in my car,” she revealed.

She also said that at the time her breakthrough song Krokro No was gaining attention in Ghana, she was still living in her car in London and was told by fellow musician Bisa Kdei to come down for promotion.

“And the song was being played in Ghana, but I was not here to promote the song or anything. So when I was in London, Kdei told me to come down to Ghana and promote it, because it was really doing well.”

“At that time, I was living in my car and a friend's house. So if I want to go take my shower, I go to my friend's apartment and I take my shower.”

Through it all, the songstress noted that she was determined to make good music and every event forming part of her career was “part of a reason.”
