3Media Networks is set to launch its Drive Safe Campaign on Friday, August 14 2026.
This month-long road safety awareness initiative is a call for collective action aimed at educating drivers, passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists and other road users on the importance of responsible road use and strict compliance with road safety protocols.
The campaign comes at a time when road safety remains a major national concern. According to the National Road Safety Authority(NRSA), road crashes claimed 2,949 lives in Ghana in 2025, the highest annual road crash death toll recorded in 35 years.
The regional figures are equally concerning. The Greater Accra Region recorded the highest number of crashes, with 4,533 cases, while the Ashanti Region followed closely with 4,430 crashes. Despite recording fewer crashes than Greater Accra, the Ashanti Region recorded the highest number of deaths, with 692 fatalities.
The Eastern Region ranked third, recording 2,195 crashes and 649 deaths.
These figures represent more than statistics. Behind every crash is a life lost, a family affected, a business disrupted or a community left to deal with the consequences.
The situation is a wake-up call for authorities, transport operators, drivers and every road user.
Through the Drive Safe Campaign, 3Media Networks, in collaboration with key stakeholders, seeks to create sustained public conversations around road safety and encourage practical behavioural changes that can help prevent avoidable crashes.
The campaign will focus on educating drivers, passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists and other road users on issues including responsible driving, vehicle roadworthiness, speeding, dangerous overtaking, distracted driving, fatigue, pedestrian safety and compliance with road traffic regulations.
The Drive Safe Campaign is a clarion call for all stakeholders in Ghana’s road transport and safety ecosystem to come together and push the agenda of safe commutes.
3Media Networks intends to engage key institutions and organisations, including the National Road Safety Authority, the Motor Traffic and Transport Department(MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, transport operators, drivers’ unions, emergency response agencies, vehicle licensing authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
The campaign will provide a platform for experts and practitioners to share credible information, address misconceptions and answer critical questions about road safety.
The objective is to move beyond simply reporting on road crashes to focusing on prevention, education and behavioural change.
There is a need for meaningful conversations that will encourage road users to prioritise safety, exercise discipline and recognise their individual responsibility in making Ghana’s roads safer.
3Media Networks will leverage its media platforms to take the Drive Safe campaign message to audiences across the country via Orange 107.9 FM in Kumasi, Pluzz 89.9 FM and 3Music TV in Accra. The campaign will feature interviews, expert discussions, public education segments, road safety messages, live engagements and digital content, giving road safety experts and key stakeholders the opportunity to speak directly to the public while allowing road users to share their experiences, concerns and perspectives.
3Media Networks is open to partnering with organisations, institutions, businesses and other stakeholders who share the vision of reducing road crashes and promoting safer roads in Ghana.
Our Drive Safe Campaign requires the collective commitment of government agencies, transport operators, the media, civil society, businesses and most importantly, road users.
The Drive Safe Campaign is therefore an invitation to everyone to take responsibility for creating safer roads because every journey should end safely.
Ghana needs you alive. Your safety is your responsibility.
DRIVE SAFE. ARRIVE ALIVE.
