Nana Ama McBrown Highlights Society’s Barrier To Young Women In New Movie AMA

Veteran Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown has shared insights into her upcoming movie Ama, calling it one of her perfect works

The actress, speaking on Culture Daily on 3Music TV on Tuesday, August 10, 2026, said that the movie tells the story of young women in Ghana who have potentials for greatness but are limited due to society. 

"And this character is a character that is going to tell a story of a lot of young women, especially in the north or in the villages," she said.

"People that have potentials yet parents feel like you need to do this."

The now media personality also said her new movie features only two familiar faces with new talents. 

"And what is amazing about the movie Ama is the new faces. Me and Dr. Likee are the only two people known, it's all about new talents, new faces," she stated.

Nana Ama also revealed that the movie was initially scripted in Twi and was strictly acted out. 

The movie Ama will be premiered on August 15 at the UPSA auditorium.
