Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy delivered a landmark performance in London over the weekend as he brought his BHIM Festival to the OVO Arena Wembley on August 15.
The sold-out show marked a major milestone for the artiste and Ghanaian music, with Stonebwoy headlining the 12,500-capacity venue and using the stage to showcase his music, Ghanaian identity and Afrodancehall culture to a packed audience.
The concert also featured a strong lineup of Ghanaian, African and Caribbean acts, including Samini, Kwabena Kwabena, Ofori Amponsah, DopeNation, Jux, Mista Silva, Mr P and Stylo G.
Stonebwoy performed several songs from his catalogue, including Silent Samurai, while the presence of artistes from across the continent and diaspora reinforced BHIM Fest's identity as a platform for cultural exchange.
The London edition builds on the festival's growth from its roots in Ashaiman into one of Ghana's major artist-led concert brands.
Beyond the entertainment, the Wembley show represented another important step in Stonebwoy's international journey and the global projection of Ghanaian music.
By taking his own festival brand to a major London arena and placing Ghanaian music and culture at the centre of the experience, Stonebwoy demonstrated the growing ability of Ghanaian artistes to create international platforms around their own brands.
The sold-out BHIM Fest London therefore stands as another significant achievement in Stonebwoy's career and a major moment for Ghana's music industry.
