Chef Abbys Announces BIG STREET FEAST 2.0

Ghanaian chef, Chef Abbys has announced the second edition of her Big Street Feast, an ambitious food initiative aimed at feeding more than 50,000 people across the streets of Accra and Kumasi on World Food Day, October 16, 2026.

The initiative is built around the belief that food goes beyond nourishment, representing dignity, community and love, with Chef Abbys calling on individuals, food businesses, brands, organisations and companies to join the movement.

The announcement has been shared across Chef Abbys’ social media platforms, confirming the scale of the second edition.

As part of the initiative, Chef Abbys is inviting food businesses and members of the public to contribute by cooking for the project, while brands and organisations are encouraged to come on board through partnerships and sponsorship.

The expansion to both Accra and Kumasi makes the second edition significantly broader in scope, with the goal of reaching people on the streets with free meals as part of the World Food Day celebration.

The initiative reflects a growing emphasis on using food and culinary platforms to create direct social impact and bring communities together.

Chef Abbys has stressed that she cannot undertake the project alone and is therefore seeking support from people and organisations who share the vision.

With a target of more than 50,000 beneficiaries, Big Street Feast 2.0 is shaping up to be a major community-driven food initiative, turning World Food Day into an opportunity to share meals, create connections and remind people that “free food will find you.”
