The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of four regions on Monday, June 2, as it undertakes maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability of electricity supply.

The company said the planned outages will affect customers within its operational areas in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern and Volta regions.

According to ECG, the exercise forms part of routine maintenance activities intended to strengthen the power distribution network and enhance service delivery to consumers.

In the Greater Accra Region, communities within the Accra East, Accra West and Tema operational areas are expected to experience temporary interruptions in electricity supply during the maintenance period.

Some of the affected locations include Lakeside Communities 7, 8 and 9, New Legon, A&C Mall, AH Hotel, East Airport International School and surrounding areas.

Other communities within the Accra West operational area, including Oduman, Manhean, Odawna and nearby locations, are also expected to be affected.

ECG further indicated that parts of the Ashanti Region and other operational districts in the Eastern and Volta regions would experience outages as engineers carry out work on transmission and distribution infrastructure.

The company explained that such maintenance exercises are necessary to improve the stability of the electricity network and reduce the occurrence of unplanned outages in the future.

Customers in the affected areas have been advised to take the necessary precautions, particularly those operating businesses that depend heavily on electricity.

ECG apologised for the inconvenience the interruptions may cause and assured customers that power supply would be restored immediately after the completion of the maintenance works.
