The final 26-man team for Ghana’s bid in the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, has been unveiled by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Key players including captain Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Antoine Semenyo are included in the roster released on Monday.

Three goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders, and eight forwards make up the lineup, which is a well-balanced selection meant to improve Ghana's World Cup prospects.

The team includes seasoned goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi of Swiss team St. Gallen, Joseph Anang of St. Patrick's Athletic, and Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, who has been making an impression in the Ghana Premier League.

Since Benjamin Asare is still one of the few domestic players chosen for the national squad, his presence is anticipated to thrill local football supporters.

With Baba Rahman, Gideon Mensah, and Alidu Seidu headlining the backline choices, the defensive unit has a blend of youth and experience.

Marvin Senaya, Abdul Mumin, Jerome Opoku, Jonas Adjetey, Kojo Oppong Peprah, and Derrick Luckassen are also included.

As Ghana looks to improve its defensive record in the qualifiers, it is anticipated that the return and prolonged presence of several of these players would offer consistency and depth.

Thomas Partey, the star of the midfield unit, is anticipated to be crucial in managing action in the middle of the field.

Elisha Owusu, Kwasi Sibo, Augustine Boakye, Caleb Yirenkyi, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku join him, providing the coaching staff with a variety of options in both attacking and defensive midfield positions.

A persistent attempt to combine expertise with youthful energy in the national team setup is indicated by the participation of young players with seasoned internationals.

Ghana's formidable attacking lineup includes Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, and Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Prince Kwabena Adu, Ernest Nuamah, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Christopher Bonsu Baah are also on the team.
