Dr. Chris Aminarh has said that female ejaculation is a natural biological process experienced by some women, but not all.
Speaking on Culture Daily on 3Music TV’s Big Convo, Dr. Aminarh sought to clarify misconceptions surrounding the phenomenon, which is often referred to as squirting.
He explained that the fluid associated with female ejaculation is linked to glands near the female urethra, commonly known as Skene’s glands, which he described as the female equivalent of the male prostate gland.
According to him, the fluid released during female ejaculation is different from urine, although it may pass through the same channel.
Dr. Aminarh explained that female ejaculation occurs when certain areas become highly stimulated, triggering the release of fluid from the glands.
He said research suggests that between 10 and 50 percent of women may experience the phenomenon at some point in their lives.
“Some are highly active, while some people will never experience it because it’s not sensitive enough,” he said.
The medical practitioner noted that the amount of fluid released varies from person to person and may be influenced by factors such as hydration and individual anatomy.
He added that the large volumes often portrayed in adult entertainment do not accurately represent every woman’s experience.
“The fluid volume you are seeing in those movies, to every woman it might be different,” he explained.
Dr. Aminarh also highlighted the role of emotional comfort and trust during intimacy.
According to him, many women instinctively suppress the reflex because the sensation can feel similar to the urge to urinate.
“Releasing it requires a massive amount of psychological comfort and trust,” he said.
He encouraged people to seek accurate medical information rather than relying on depictions in pornography, stressing that female ejaculation is a natural bodily response rather than a universal indicator of pleasure or sexual fulfilment.
