The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed the interdiction of a teacher of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following the circulation of a video on social media alleging sexual misconduct involving the teacher and a student.

In a statement issued on 16 June 2026, GES said it had become aware of the video and had immediately begun investigations into the matter.

The Service said management has directed that the teacher be interdicted in line with its rules and regulations while investigations are ongoing.

“Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” the statement said.

GES condemned what it described as all forms of inappropriate relationships between teachers and students, stressing that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual misconduct within the education system.

The Service also urged its staff to uphold high standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times.

According to GES, the welfare and protection of students remain a priority, adding that disciplinary and legal action would be taken against any individual found culpable after investigations are concluded.

“Management remains committed to ensuring the safety, protection, and well-being of all students within the educational system,” the statement said.

The Service further assured the public that the matter was being treated with the utmost seriousness and indicated that further updates could be provided as investigations progress.

The GES did not share any further details about the individuals involved other than confirming that the case concerns a teacher and a student of Bole Senior High School. It, however, added that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
