In commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, GH Schools hosted an inspiring and educational seminar at the school’s Mega Studio to promote early detection and preventive healthcare. The event brought together a panel of medical professionals, media leaders and academic figures, all united by a shared goal to raise awareness and empower young people to take charge of their health.
The seminar featured insightful presentations from Dr. Lisa Tetteh, Dr. Christopher Aminarh, the CEO of 3Music TV - Rashidatu Yasmine Abdulai and the Rector and Vice Rector of GH Schools. Each speaker emphasized the need for continuous education, open conversations and practical steps toward combating breast cancer within communities.
Dr. Lisa Tetteh delivered a compelling speech, urging students to prioritize health daily and stressing that awareness should not be limited to October alone. She reminded the audience, encouraging regular self-examinations, annual screenings and a proactive approach to wellness.
Adding a unique perspective, the CEO of 3Music TV spoke on the importance of immediate medical aid, self-care, financial independence and personal responsibility. Through two heartfelt personal stories, she encouraged students to prioritize their well-being, emphasizing that “taking care of yourself physically and financially is a form of empowerment.”
In his closing remarks, the Rector of GH Schools - Mr. Leslie Listowell, motivated students to pursue part-time opportunities or side jobs that build both financial stability and self-confidence. He underscored the value of balancing academics with personal growth and responsibility.
The session was not only informative but also highly interactive. Students participated in guided demonstrations on how to perform breast self-examinations, as well as open Q&A segments that fostered honest dialogue and deeper understanding.
The seminar concluded with a unified message that awareness, education and consistent check-ups remain vital tools in the fight against breast cancer.
