Ghanaian Gospel artiste Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta has added his voice to the ongoing conversation about gospel music being played in clubs a topic that has stirred mixed reactions across the creative space. In a candid sit-down with Zuu and Afi on Stay By Plan, the singer offered a refreshing and grounded perspective rooted in purpose, humility and deep spiritual conviction.

As one of the artistes whose own gospel song has found its way into club rotations, Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta described the moment not with controversy, but with gratitude.

“I’m honoured the music is reaching where it should,We pray for proper conviction like anybody who hears it and it changes their heart, changes their mind and brings them back to Christ. If it’s not doing that, then I’m doing something wrong. I need to work harder.” he shared.

For him, the conversation is less about where the music is played and more about what the music does. He believes that true gospel carries power and that power should translate into transformation, regardless of the environment. Whether it’s a church, a club, a car or a market, his mission remains centred on drawing people closer to God.

The discussion with Zuu and Afi highlighted a broader cultural shift, where gospel music is increasingly breaking traditional boundaries and reaching unexpected spaces. Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta’s response positions him as part of a new generation of gospel musicians who view every platform as an opportunity for impact, not controversy.

With a growing discography and an unwavering commitment to authentic ministry through music, Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta continues to stand out using his voice, his art, and his message to meet listeners exactly where they are.
