In the second part of his raw and revealing interview, Showboy delves deeper into his personal life, relationships, and the mindset behind his comeback. From heartbreaks to hard truths, the controversial rapper opens up like never before proving that behind the street bravado is a man seeking peace, validation and meaning.
Showboy, who recently released his new album KAKAAKU says the project represents everything about him his struggles, relationships, betrayals and rebirth. “You got to listen to my album,” he said passionately. “It’s me. Everything about me, my personal life, my relationship life, everything is in there.”
Despite his raw image, Showboy admits he doesn’t create alone. “I actually have songwriters. I’m a businessman,” he revealed. “I got people who help me compose my songs. But everything they write is still about me. Every lyric is my life.”
According to Showboy, his issues with Medikal and Criss Waddle go beyond music they stem from loyalty and manipulation. “I made Waddle focus on Medikal. I told him he was going to blow. I believed in him before anyone else. So if I have issues with Waddle, MDK inherits the beef,” he said. “It’s not personal. It’s just how the streets work.”
Beyond music, the rapper spoke candidly about his private life including love, loss, and loneliness. “I fall in love fast,” he confessed. “I meet you today, I kiss you, and boom I’m in love. I can be with you for the rest of my life, but if you move funny, someone else will fill your seat.”
His honesty extends to his flaws. “I know I’m harsh,” he admitted. “When people wrong me, I react fast. I don’t take my time. But I’m learning to control it. I don’t hate anyone. I’ve texted people I’ve had issues with just to tell them I appreciate them. If you’re ready to make peace, be a man and call me. I’ll apologize too.”
The rapper also spoke about his recent fallout with Kweku Smoke, revealing that he was kicked off stage during a show. “It wasn’t my fault,” he said. “My fans followed me. It’s the stage manager’s job to control that, not mine. I’m an artiste. I was booked to perform. But to cut my performance short was disrespectful.”
Still, he insists he bears no grudges. “I don’t hold anything in my heart,” he said calmly. “If you wrong me, I’ll tell you. But I’ll also forgive you.”
Despite the chaos, Showboy’s new album is gaining attention. KAKAAKU has over a million streams. I’ve been promoting it for a year. I take my time because I don’t stream-farm. I promote organically.”
“Sarkodie didn’t call me for Rapperholic, so I wrote TRAPPAHOLIC for him which is also on the album” he said with a grin.
For Showboy, every moment now is about purpose. I want people to see what I’ve been through, to understand it. My story can inspire others. I’m not chasing fame anymore. I just want to be heard.”
