Actor John Dumelo has declared his intention to run as Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency again after losing to the incumbent MP Lydia Seyram Alhassan in the 2020 general elections.
He
announced his plans via his socials with his campaign flyer. In the
tweet, he claims that after careful consideration with his God, family and
party supporters, he is confident that his second coming will be worthwhile.
However,
Mr. Dumelo will go head-to-head with his friend and best man, Fred Nuamah, in contesting the parliamentary primaries.
In the 2020 general elections, Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) defeated John Dumelo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with 39,851 votes where as Dumelo had 37,778 votes.
Fred
Nuamah on the other hand, is making his first appearance in the constituency.
The NDC’s primaries have been scheduled for May 13, 2023.
