Kendrick Lamar Makes History as First Rapper to Gross Over $10 Million in a Single Concert
Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick Lamar has once again cemented his legacy in the music industry by becoming the first rapper to gross over $10 million from a single concert. This historic achievement occurred during his Grand National Tour stop at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on April 26th, 2025, where the event amassed an impressive $11.8 million in revenue.

The Arlington concert, part of Lamar’s co-headlining Grand National Tour with R&B star SZA, attracted a sold-out crowd of over 80,000 fans. This performance not only set a new record for Lamar but also positioned him alongside Beyoncé and The Weeknd as one of the few Black artists to surpass the $10 million mark in a single show.

The Grand National Tour has been a monumental success, with its opening night in Minneapolis grossing over $9 million and attracting more than 47,000 fans, surpassing Eminem’s 2019 attendance record. Lamar’s Arlington performance was a masterclass in showmanship, featuring a visually intense stage setup and thematic elements that delved into rivalry and introspection. The rapper performed atop a black Buick GNX, a nod to his Grammy-winning album of the same name, amidst a backdrop that included multimedia clips resembling court depositions, adding depth to the narrative of his ongoing feud with Drake.

SZA’s performance provided a contrasting yet complementary experience, with nature-themed visuals and emotive renditions of her hits, including The Weekend and Nobody Gets Me. Her segment featured elaborate visuals like a giant ant and butterfly wings, captivating the audience and adding a layer of artistic diversity to the show.

This historic achievement in Arlington is a testament to Kendrick Lamar’s unparalleled influence and innovation in the music industry. As the Grand National Tour continues to captivate audiences across the nation, Lamar’s legacy as a pioneering artiste in hip-hop is further cemented.
