Ghanaian Afrobeat artiste and producer KiDi recently participated as a guest speaker at the 16th annual Oxford Africa Business Forum, held on March 14th to 15th, 2025, at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. This year’s forum, themed Growth Trajectory: Globalisation vs Domestic Collaboration, convened leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers to discuss Africa’s evolving business landscape.
KiDi shared his perspective on the creative sector’s role in enhancing Africa’s global competitiveness, emphasizing the continent’s potential in innovation, particularly within the creative and digital industries. He stated, “The future of business in Africa lies in embracing technology and creativity. Collaboration and investment in young entrepreneurs will drive the continent’s growth and global influence.”
The forum also featured other notable speakers, including footballer Didier Drogba, Governor Dikko Radda, and entrepreneur Rebecca Enonchong, fostering discussions on balancing globalization with domestic collaboration to propel Africa’s economic growth.
Organized by the Oxford Africa Business Alliance, a partnership among Oxford Saïd’s faculty, students, and alumni, the event served as a platform to explore strategies for sustainable growth, social impact, and unlocking Africa’s untapped potential.
KiDi’s participation underscores the significance of the creative sector in Africa’s economic development and highlights the importance of integrating technology and creativity to bolster the continent’s position in the global market.
