South African rap star Nasty C is preparing to release his highly anticipated fifth studio album,FREE, this Friday, September 12, 2025. The project arrives with a wave of excitement across Africa’s hip hop community and beyond, cementing Nasty C’s reputation as one of the continent’s most consistent and versatile rappers.

FREE features 16 tracks and promises a mix of introspection, lyrical depth, and experimental sound. The album includes collaborations with some of the most exciting voices in South African music, including Blxckie, Usimamane, DJ Speedsta, Tellaman, and Tshego.

In the lead-up to the full release, Nasty C has dropped several singles that have already captured fans’ attention, including LEFTIE (Dlala Ngcobo) featuring Blxckie, SOFT with Usimamane, PSYCHIC and most recently MSP featuring DJ Speedsta. Each release has offered a glimpse into the sonic and lyrical direction of the album, blending sharp rap flows with themes of hustle, self-expression, and resilience.

The title itself signals a bold statement. After years of carrying the weight of expectation, Nasty C positions FREE as an album about self-liberation and artistic authenticity. It reflects his evolution since 2023’s I LOVE IT HERE, giving him space to experiment while staying true to his storytelling roots.

With his established international presence and reputation as one of Africa’s most bankable rappers, the upcoming release is being closely watched not just in South Africa, but worldwide. Industry watchers are eager to see how FREE will perform on streaming platforms.

The album’s rollout, built around bold singles, high-profile collaborations, and carefully curated anticipation, suggests that FREE could be one of the most significant African hip hop releases of 2025.

FREE will be available on September 12, 2025, across all major streaming platforms.
