Rapper Tory Lanez Stabbed in Prison, Hospitalized with Serious Injuries

Rapper Tory Lanez, currently serving a 10-year sentence at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, was hospitalized on Monday morning after being stabbed by a fellow inmate.

According to prison officials, the attack occurred around 7:20 a.m. local time. Staff responded immediately, providing first aid and activating emergency medical services. Lanez was subsequently transported to a nearby civilian hospital for further treatment.

Reports indicate that Tory Lanez sustained 14 stab wounds, including seven to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one to the left side of his face. Both of his lungs collapsed as a result of the attack. He was placed on a breathing apparatus but is now breathing on his own and is reportedly in good spirits.

The motive behind the stabbing remains unclear, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, along with the Kern County District Attorney’s Office, has launched an investigation into the incident.

Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was convicted in December 2022 of three felony charges related to the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. He has consistently maintained his innocence and is currently appealing his conviction.
