Former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is receiving medical treatment after she was reportedly injured in a shooting incident at the residence of her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, on Sunday.
According to reports, gunmen allegedly opened fire on a vehicle carrying the former legislator during a gathering linked to a succession dispute within the Kristo Asafo movement following the death of its founder, Kwadwo Safo.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred near the residence of Israel Kwadwo Safo, popularly known as Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, where supporters had reportedly gathered in connection with efforts to install him as the successor to the late founder.

Sources familiar with the incident said armed individuals opened fire during the gathering. Some reports claimed that around 15 rounds of ammunition were discharged, although this information has not been independently verified.
Sources close to Adwoa Safo also alleged that one of the bullets grazed her near the neck. She was subsequently taken for medical attention and is said to be in a stable condition.

The reported shooting comes amid growing tensions within the Kristo Asafo family over leadership and succession arrangements following the death of Apostle Kwadwo Safo.
Reports suggest that some family members have challenged attempts to elevate Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena to the leadership of the organisation.
As of Sunday afternoon, the Ghana Police Service had not issued an official statement on the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the identity of the attackers remain unclear, and authorities are expected to investigate the matter and establish the facts of the case.
