Renowned soul and R&B singer Angie Stone tragically passed away at the age of 63 following a car accident in Montgomery, Alabama. The incident occurred early Saturday morning as Stone and her band were traveling from a performance in Alabama to Atlanta. Their van reportedly overturned and was subsequently struck by a truck, leading to her untimely death.  

Throughout her illustrious career, Angie Stone collaborated with prominent artists such as D’Angelo, Alicia Keys, and Lenny Kravitz. She earned three Grammy nominations and was celebrated for her powerful vocals and songwriting prowess.  

In the months leading up to her death, Stone publicly addressed issues regarding unpaid royalties. She accused her former record label, Universal Music Group (UMG), of mishandling her earnings, alleging that significant amounts were withheld during her recovery from a severe health scare. Stone detailed her ordeal during an Instagram Live session, revealing that she had been hospitalized due to a bacterial blood infection. She expressed frustration over the alleged misappropriation of her funds by UMG during this vulnerable period.  

Fans and fellow artists have taken to social media to express their grief and pay tribute to Angie Stone’s legacy. Her daughter, Diamond Stone, confirmed the news of her mother’s passing on Facebook, expressing profound sorrow over the loss.  

Angie Stone’s contributions to the music industry have left an indelible mark, and she will be remembered for her soulful voice and enduring influence on R&B and soul music.
