Rihanna to Release New Single Friend of Mine from Upcoming Smurfs Movie
Rihanna is set to release a new single titled Friend of Mine this Friday, May 16, 2025. The track is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming animated film Smurfs, in which Rihanna voices the character Smurfette. The news was reported by The Sun and confirmed by Amazon Music India via social media.
In addition to her voice role, Rihanna has contributed original music to the film and served as a producer. The movie, directed by Chris Miller, is scheduled for release on July 18th, 2025. The star-studded cast includes John Goodman, Sandra Oh, James Corden, and Octavia Spencer. The plot follows the Smurfs as they embark on a mission to rescue Papa Smurf from evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel.
Fans can look forward to Friend of Mine ahead of the film’s release, adding to the anticipation for Rihanna’s involvement in the Smurfs universe.
