Shirley Frimpong Manso Launches YouTube Channel, SPARROW STATION

Renowned Ghanaian filmmaker Shirley Frimpong-Manso has launched a new digital platform, the Sparrow Station YouTube channel, aiming to make Ghanaian cinema more accessible to a global audience. The channel’s inaugural feature, For Love and Country, is set to premiere on March 6th, 2025.

For Love and Country is a dark comedy that delves into the complexities of political life and personal relationships. The film boasts a stellar cast, including renowned Ghanaian actresses Lydia Forson, Naa Ashorkor, Jackie Appiah, and Joselyn Dumas. The narrative centers around the days leading up to the inauguration of a new president, exploring themes of love, power, and societal expectations.  

The launch event for Sparrow Station took place at the Omanye Hall of Labadi Beach Hotel, attracting industry stakeholders, actors, and film enthusiasts.

Sparrow Station aims to serve as a central hub for Sparrow Productions’ extensive film library, offering audiences a diverse range of Ghanaian narratives.
