SZA Makes History as SOS Becomes First Album by a Woman to Spend 100 Weeks in the Billboard 200 Top 10

SZA’s critically acclaimed sophomore album, SOS, has officially become the first album by a female artiste to spend 100 weeks in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, marking a new milestone in music history.

Released in December 2022, SOS debuted at No. 1 and held that position for ten nonconsecutive weeks. Since then, the project has remained a consistent chart fixture, never dropping out of the Top 20, and in the process surpassed Michael Jackson’s Thriller as the longest-running Top 10 album by a Black artiste.

Speaking on the personal nature of her discography, SZA reflected:
“SOS is me singing about relationships from 6 years ago. Ctrl was about relationships from high school n college. Reflection is a part of growth. Reflection is good.”

With smash singles like Kill Bill, Snooze, and Shirt, SOS has become both a commercial juggernaut and a cultural touchstone, strengthening SZA’s reputation as one of this generation’s most important voices in R&B.
