Grammy-winning R&B star SZA took to social media this week to share a powerful reflection on her journey, from being overlooked and rejected to becoming one of music’s most celebrated voices.

In an emotional post, SZA revealed that early in her career, she received discouraging emails from industry insiders who dismissed her music and told her to stop sending it.

“Really had emails telling me to ‘please stop sending me ur music’ and ‘we’re not interested,’ and ‘she’s too green and we just don’t like her,’” she wrote.
“I came SO FOoNG FAR. Please don’t gafwnbgts. IT DOES NOT MATTER. WHAT GOD HAS FOR U CANNOT BE STOPPED. KEEP TRYING KEEP GOING!”

Her message struck a chord with fans, many of whom praised her transparency and resilience.

Fast forward to 2025, and SZA’s career stands in stark contrast to those early rejections: she now boasts multiple No. 1 hits, a Grammy Award, and several chart-topping albums, including the critically acclaimed SOS. Her success has helped redefine modern R&B, and her vulnerability has continued to inspire a new generation of artists and listeners.

The post serves as both a celebration of her perseverance and a reminder to anyone facing rejection that setbacks are not the end, they can be the beginning of something bigger.
