Tems and Hennessy Launch the Leading Vibe Initiative to Empower African Women in Music
Tems
Global superstar Tems is stepping into a powerful new role not just as an artiste, but as an advocate for women across the African music industry. In collaboration with Hennessy, Tems is launching the Leading Vibe Initiative (LVI), a bold platform aimed at increasing representation, fostering community, and creating lasting opportunities for African women in music.

Set to debut in Lagos from August 8th to 9th, 2025, the two-day event will include workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions designed to equip young women with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in every corner of the music business, from songwriting and production to management and marketing.

Inspired by Tems’s own rise from Lagos to global acclaim, the LVI is deeply personal. Tems has consistently used her platform to challenge industry norms and celebrate women’s voices, both creatively and culturally.

The initiative is supported by Hennessy, a brand long committed to championing creative expression.

Hennessy’s history of cultural investment spans decades — from hip-hop’s golden age to the rise of Afrobeats. In Africa, the brand has supported artistic communities through projects like In the Paint, and now, with the Leading Vibe Initiative, takes a focused step toward addressing gender inequality in the industry.

Following its Lagos launch, the LVI will expand across Africa and internationally, building a global network of empowered women in music. The program’s long-term goal is to redefine the sound and influence of African music through the leadership, creativity, and innovation of women who have historically been underrepresented in the space.

As excitement builds ahead of the launch, the Leading Vibe Initiative is already being hailed as a defining moment — not just for Tems, but for the next generation of African women ready to take center stage.
