The Weeknd’s latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, has achieved remarkable success, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. This marks his fifth album to reach the top position.  

In its first week, Hurry Up Tomorrow sold approximately 490,500 units, making it the highest-selling album of 2025 to date. This figure is nearly three times that of the next best-selling album.  

The album’s impressive debut also represents the largest sales week for any album since Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department in May 2024. Additionally, it marks the biggest week for an R&B/hip-hop album since Travis Scott’s Utopia in August 2023.  

Hurry Up Tomorrow is the final installment of The Weeknd’s trilogy, following After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022). The album delves into themes of fame, hedonism, and self-reflection, featuring collaborations with artists such as Justice, Giorgio Moroder, and Lana Del Rey.  

Critics have praised the album’s cinematic quality and introspective lyrics, noting its blend of various genres and high-quality production. The Weeknd’s exploration of his alter-ego and the complexities of his musical journey have been highlighted as significant aspects of this release.  

With Hurry Up Tomorrow, The Weeknd continues to solidify his position as a leading figure in contemporary music, achieving both commercial success and critical acclaim.
